Bobby Sanchez

Bobby Sanchez, identifies as a two spirit individual and they’re pronouns are she/they. Her raps unapologetically and artfully center political issues such as: immigration, identifying as Latinx, gender, sexuality, environmental justice and other issues. They started performing at age 11. They’re introduction to the public performance came from poetry slams, which they identify as “their first love”.

They’re first EP titled ITA, named after their grandmother, was released when Sanchez was 26 years old. Much like they’re poems, the album cover is as straightforward as her message in her poems. ITA’s album cover is a black and white picture of their grandmother at an airport in Peru when they were first flying to the United States.

In addition to being an artist they also teach music and poetry workshops in schools in New York. For updates on their music and art their instagram page can be located at bobbysanchezmusic.
